So, that’s another thing crossed off my list for 2011 :) Paris was amazing! I had such fun and we fitted in so much tourist-y things. We arrived at Gare de Nord and went to the Moulin Rouge (picture!) and the Red Light District, we didn’t get offered any “shows” though haha!
We then went to see the Arc De Triomphe, which was a lot bigger than I thought! It was so detail and the eternal flame was lovely. From there we went for a mooch to the Eiffel Tower, it was too late to go up it, but it was all so pretty. We then got our first French CREPE! (Picture!) As you can see in the picture, we were very excited about this haha!
Day 2: We got up super early and got dressed, then we headed straight to the Eiffel Tower to go to the top! (Picture!) We queued for quite a long time, but it was worth it! The views were amazing and the amount of Paris that you could see was incredible. We then went for some Quick Burger!(Basically the French version of Burger King!) for some lunch. Yum. We then walked through to the Concorde followed by La Louvre, (picture!) where we saw Venus, Cupid and most importantly the Mona Lisa by Leonardo Di Vinci. Amazing. We wondered around the Egyptian bits and bobs and then got thrown out because they were closing! haha! We then walked along the Champs-Elysse to get something to eat, where we found this lovely Italian Restaurant :) Was lovely and the wine made it all go down so much better! haha!
Day 3: Our last day :( we booked out of our hotel (CLICK HERE!) and made our way to get the Metro, down to La Catacombs – I thought it would be scary or sad or something, but it really wasn’t, it was just cool! I even touched a skulls’ eye socket! haha! I don’t think you were actually supposed to touch them haha! as so cool! (Picture!) then we went to get a quick bite to eat – Croque Monsieur’s are very cheesy! – and then it was off to Notre Dame! Which had beautiful architecture, but I actually found this creepier than La Catacombs lol! then we went to the Latin Quarter for something to eat, before coming home in the Evening.
I had such a good time and I saw everything that I wanted to see, the Catacombs were absolutely AMAZING and I highly recommend them to anyone going to Paris… also the norms, Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower etc. The Louvre was also very good and I would have liked to stay there longer, but that is just because I love art so much…. shame it was closing.
All-in-all, it was a really good trip and I hope you all book up and go! Just beware of Sally! (Private Joke! haha!)
Peace and love,
